Description |
Coat-of-Arms of US Coast Guard ship STORIS; fabric patch mounted on wooden shield. "CGC STORIS WAG 38" is stitched onto the shield. The signal flags on the coat of arms are for N, R, U and C, which is the call sign for the STORIS. This shield was for years on the wall of the bar at the officers club U.S. Naval Station Pier #91 Seattle. It was the custom for ships tying for any length of time to leave their coat-of-arms on the bar wall. The club was decommissioned in 1979. |
