Description |
Section of copper speaking tube from Alaska Steamship Company's VICTORIA, with flared mouth piece and separate whistle/mouthpiece plug attached by chain. Mounted on brass bracket with two side bolt holes; includes two 2 1/2" long aluminum bolts with wing nuts (for display). Stamped "CHIEF ENGINEER" and "PILOT HOUSE". The VICTORIA was built in 1870 as the PARTHIA. In 1887 the Canadian Pacific Railway bought the ship and brought it to sail between Canada and Asia. It was sold again in 1870 by the Northern Pacific Steamship Company and renamed VICTORIA. It continued to sail until 1956 when it was scrapped in Japan. |
