Description |
Name board from the steamer VASHON II, built in 1917. In 1922 the ship was sold to the Kitsap County Transportation Co., who renamed her MANITOU. In the 1940s she was sold to the Tyee Yacht Club of Seattle and sank in 1958. In 1957 Ralph Hitchcock salvaged the MANITOU's nameboard. While restoring the board, he revealed VASHON II lettering underneath and restored the board to mimic the original look of the VASHON II nameboard. |
