Description |
Silver pitcher inscribed "Josh to Harry with fond memories of Auld Lang Syne and Harry's Alma Mater the S.S. FLYER". U. B. Scott, former president of the Columbia River and Puget Sound Navigation Co., obtained the pitcher from the captain of the British Bark ALLIANCE. Scott mentioned that this bark tipped over onto the steamer OKLAHOMA in the Columbia River. This event happened in 1886, so this might have been the year Scott obtained the pitcher. It was used in the dining room on the FLYER until the ship was purchased by Joshua Green. Green presented the pitcher with the inscription to Harry Collier before 1957. |
