1 B/W photo of tugboat BARBARA FOSS (1). The first of two BARBARA FOSS tugs, BARBARA FOSS was designed by naval architects Lee & Brinton and later built in 1925 at John Nelson's shipyard in Seattle. Initially named WEGO and seeing service as a log tug, the tug was sold in 1929 to Foss Company and renamed BARBARA FOSS. BARBARA FOSS experienced two wrecks, one in 1931 and again in 1942, when BARBARA FOSS suffered an explosion and went down near Marrowstone Island; starboard view |
