19. HAYDN BROWN - The Bark, HAYDN BROWN, built at Newburyport Main, in 1876, of 864 tons, with dimensions of 162' x 34.9' 19.8' [length, beam, draft].She was engaged for a number of years in the lumber trade from Puget Sound. In 1906, purchased from Charles Nelson & Company, by Alaska Copper Company. In late July, following her last voyage under sail from Eureka to Manilla with lumber and returning in ballast July 10, 1906 with Capt. Kohn Jacobson. Rebuilt as a barge to carry ore between Alaska and the Tacoma Smelter. In 1912, operated by Capt. Griffiths was lost while in tow by the tug Pioneer, in a tremendous gale of Cape St. Elias, Alaska. On May 12, she piled up on rocks off Montague Island, 6 of a crew of 7 lost.

20. HEALY #1 - On verso; "HEALY #1, bought for $5,000; insured for $82,000 on representation of value contained in letter agreeing to a sale price of $82,000 from a Spanish purchaser. Tow weeks after insurance attached vessel burned in Lake Washington. Extended investigation showed no purchaser existed and letter offering to buy a complete forgery. After suit against underwriters stated the insured was so fearful of prosecution for either forgery or arson that he disappeared. Suit was abandoned. Underwriters were saved from all loss in the policy.

54. MABEL - Caption reads: MABEL, Sternwheeler, 98x20x6, 2 non-condensing 10x36 engine - 120# Steam. Built in Seattle by T.W. Lake for Jag. Wells & C.H. Schoff. Capt. E. A. bought out the original owners and ran her on the Snohomish-Seattle Route. In 1896, passed to Lilly Bogardus and in 1897, to the LaConner Trading & Transportation Company for the same service. Sold in 1898 to parties who tried to take her to the Yukon, but turned back in the Queen Charlotte Islands. The engines were removed on arrival and went to the Pauline Warner, a sternwheel gold dredge built in Everett, Washington. Before the engines were installed in the Mabel, they came from the "Nooksack". The hull of the Mabel was used for two years as the Wanigan at Point Roberts and was abandoned at Sucia Island in the San Juan Island Group, Washington.
