Written history of ferry IDAHO From archives (PS1980.2.392.11) This pioneer steamer was built in 1860 on the Columbia River. After more than 20 yars of service on the river she was transfered to Puget Sound, where she ran for nearly 20 years more before she was dismantled in 1899. The hull was then transformed into the Wayside Emergency Hospital until 1909. |
